What to know about Neurology in general

Neurology deals with all diseases of the central nervous system (brain, spinal cord), the peripheral nervous system and the autonomous nervous system as well as all diseases of our muscles.

The most important and most common neurological diseases are: stroke, epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, dementia, Parkinson´s and related diseases, headache, dystonia, myopathy, neuropathy, neurogenetic diseases, vertigo, and psychosomatic diseases with neurological symptoms.

The University Clinic of Neurology´s central tasks are to provide top level medical care to patients and to engage in neurological research and teaching / training (pre- and post-graduate).
