The Neuromuscular Diseases Research Group focuses on genetic, immunological and clinical aspects of neuromuscular diseases, which are covered in various projects. The research focus is on immune-mediated neuromuscular diseases such as myasthenia gravis or chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy (CIDP) and on hereditary neuromuscular diseases such as myopathies. Another goal is the search for laboratory and imaging biomarkers to enable better diagnostics and therapy. There is close cooperation with the Motor Neuron Disease Research Group with regard to clinical studies and research projects.
